Bong Joon-Ho has brought us another thematically audacious, culturally piercing, and remarkably unique picture, and he has finally been rewarded the Oscar he has deserved for years. To attempt to explain or categorize Parasite is folly, because much of the joy of viewing it is the surprise, and the post-watch unpacking of its dense plot. Trying to...

1917 Review

A technically brilliant juxtaposition of sweeping beauty and the raw horror of warfare. Sam Mendes brings a new flick to the forefront of Oscar discussion. I am usually skeptical of directors who are intent on providing a technically eccentric medium for their flick. Depending on the budget, it can be difficult to excel in a new format without...

Mangold manifests the Ford image in his newest flick- a reliable, traditional, and accessible action-drama with emphasis on the latter.

The Rise of Skywalker is the result of a collection of minds with different ideas of what Star Wars means coming together to create an ending to a polarizing trilogy that will please as many fans as possible.

Joker Review

You can hardly call this a comic book film. It is a character piece about a poorly defined mental patient in a hateful city that was catapulted to the mainstream due to the cultural recognition of Batman villains.

Us Review

I have a lot of problems with this film, but the main one may be surprising. The first half is boring.

Stranger Things 3 is eight episodes of maximalist entertainment that is constantly edging towards the "too much of a good thing" line; sometimes it crosses it, but more often than not, it hits the mark.

Who are the Fancy Lads?

William Lipper, Stanton Pruitt, and Sam Lipper are three men dedicated to living a life with respect for culture. We are childhood friends who are extremely close-too close. We met in a library in 2012 when we were all younger than 12. Since then, we have been involved in almost every aspect of each others lives. Besides film, we love the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Above all, we love people. Loyalty is very important to us. (you know who you are).

We enjoy meeting for Breakfast Club at Bubbas Cafe in Dallas.

We have lower expectations of each other than we could, higher self esteems than we should, and better taste than you'd think we would.

We like to give reviews of whatever film we stumble upon, and we will give you our honest opinion even if you hate it.

We are never more than 100% right about anything.
